news: Kiruna moves northwest
On the 7th of February 2007 a new
agreement was met between LKAB and the municipal council of Kiruna regarding
the outline of the new railway through Kiruna. Instead of the previous agreement
with a future tunnel through Luossavaara, the new railway will pass entirely
west of Lake Luossajärvi.
